4 Simple Steps to Stay Safe in a Crisis

Sometimes on our travels, things don't go according to plan, here are a few tips to help you be prepared if things go wrong when you are overseas.

When planning your trip, these 2 websites are your friend, check them out for travel advisory warnings and you can even register your travel plans with them:

Your embassy is right there behind you if things go wrong on your travels. You can contact them 24/7 from anywhere in the world and they will organise help for you by calling:
For Kiwis:  +64 4 439 8000
For Aussies: +61 2 6261 3305

Organise data for your phone before you leave home so you can keep in touch with loved ones by Facetime, Viber or Facebook

In a crisis Facebook's geolocation feature will pinpoint your location to a crisis area and your next visit to Facebook will prompt you to "mark yourself safe" which is displayed to your friends.

Be informed, prepared and stay smart while you are travelling.
