Selecting the right grade of compression is crucial to the comfort and feel of your compression stockings. Compression gear has several benefits and can help with several ailments including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins and other compression-related issues, but only if the correct compression and size are chosen. If you’re looking to learn more about the different compression stocking grades, read on.

Understanding Different Compression Stocking Grades

While all of our compression gear is made with our signature graduated compression, we offer different compression stocking levels, depending on your needs, concerns and uses. To find out which level of compression is best for you, consider your experience with compression wear, what activities you’ll be doing in your gear and what problems you’re looking to address. Using this information, you can select the compression levels that work best for you.

What Strength Compression Stockings Do I Need?

In our product range, we offer three levels of compression. After analyzing your experience, ailments and activity level, you can choose from the following compression socks levels.

Gentle Compression Level

Our gentle compression level is 10-15mmHg and is the perfect compression level for compression-wear beginners and can be worn comfortably for long periods of time.

This compression level can:

  • Reduce leg fatigue and aches
  • Prevent swelling in legs, ankles and feet
  • Protect your feet and lower legs

Moderate Compression Level

Our moderate compression level is 15-20mmHg and is the ideal compression for the balance of compression effectiveness. This compression range is recommended for those who sit or stand for a long period of time, those who frequently travel by air, those who struggle with varicose veins and pregnant women.

This compression level can:

  • Prevent swelling in legs, ankles and feet
  • Alleviate early onset of lower-limb conditions
  • Encourage circulatory wellness
  • Help prevent blood clots and deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Firm Compression Level

Our firm compression level is 20-30mmHg and is firm pressure. This is the perfect compression level for those with swollen varicose veins and those recovering from varicose vein surgery.

This compression level can:

  • Help control moderate to severe edema and varicosities as well as superficial thrombophlebitis
  • Help prevent the recurrence of venous ulcerations
  • Help prevent blood clots and deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
